How to choose dimensions for your order
- Start from what goes inside. List the products the bag should hold, especially the tallest item, such as a brush or a bottle.
- Think about depth. A flat pouch and a boxy case with the same length hold very different amounts.
- Check your packaging. If the bag goes into a gift box or a mailer, size the bag to the box, not the other way round.
- Order a sample. Samples take 5–7 days, so it is quicker to check one in hand than to guess from drawings.

The size limit applies to liquids: in the US, liquid and gel makeup goes in containers of 3.4 oz (100 ml) or less, packed in one quart-size bag. If you are making a bag meant to hold liquids at security, size it close to a quart bag. Check the rules for your market before you set the dimensions.
Which zipper size suits a makeup bag?
Most makeup bags use a #3 or #5 zipper. A #3 zipper looks neat on small pouches; a #5 zipper is stronger and easier to open on medium bags, toiletry bags and cases. Larger cases and train cases may use a #8. Tell us how the bag will be used and we will suggest the zipper on your sample.
